Robin Gibb 'wanted How Deep is Your Love? to be played at funeral'

Robin Gibb reportedly asked for a Bee Gees classic to be played at his funeral.

The late singer-songwriter - who passed away on Sunday (May 20) after a battle with cancer - told his son Spencer that he would like 'How Deep is Your Love?' played during the service.

The track was featured on the massive Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, and topped the US charts in 1977.

It later hit number one in the UK when Take That covered it in 1996.

"It's a beautiful song, penned by a beautiful person," a source told The Sun.

"It couldn't be more appropriate when we all say goodbye."

Saturday Night Fever star John Travolta paid tribute to Gibb yesterday, calling him a "real friend".
