Killers frontman hits out at Green Day

Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has hit out at Green Day for being anti-American in their music.
In an interview for The Word magazine, Flowers reportedly said: "You have Green Day and American Idiot. Where do they film their DVD? In England. A bunch of kids screaming 'I don't wanna be an American Idiot.' I saw it as a very negative thing towards Americans."
Flowers also noted that he deliberately sang in an American accent on the new Killers record, following criticism of his distinctly English-sounding accent on Hot Fuss, their first album.
The singer went on, saying "Americans are getting a bad rap right now...It's because of the war and everything that's going on. It's understandable, but to an extent it's not fair because we're just people who were born here."
