Carly Rae Jepsen: 'I want to make Justin Bieber proud'

Carly Rae Jepsen has admitted that she's nervous to open for her mentor Justin Bieber on his upcoming tour.

The 'Call Me Maybe' singer told Rolling Stone that she has already begun prepping to support Bieber on the road this autumn.

"It is exciting. It's also a really big responsibility. I want to do Justin proud," Jepsen commented.

She continued: "I'm kind of diving into late-night debates, like 'What are we going to have for lighting?' and, 'What's the set list going to look like?'

"And styling... It's just a fun sort of brainstorming time to get creative, now that we certainly have the resources to put together the show of my dreams."

Jepsen went on to say that she will be busy this summer putting the finishing touches on her upcoming album.

"It's not all the way finished right now, so it's hard to kind of completely talk about it because I'm just discovering what it might be," the star explained.

"But it's definitely a fun process to be in the middle of working on it. Probably my favourite part of all of this is just writing and creating and dreaming up the story I want to tell through music."

Jepsen joins Bieber's 'Believe' tour in September.
