Coxon: my songs are "better than Blur"
Published Monday, Oct 23 2006, 02:37 BST | By David Cribb
Graham Coxon has been talking up his new solo material.
The former Blur guitarist believes his new songs are of a much higher calibre than the band's were, and has ruled out a reunion of the group.
Coxon admits a reunion would be a waste of time for him personally, as he is currently in a much better musical place. "When I was writing I would ask myself, 'Is this as catchy as a Blur song? Or does it sound too much like a Blur song?" he said. "So yes I do compare and I think a lot of my songs are better than Blur."
