The band will be the first act on stage at the concert at London's Wembley Stadium on June 9 and lead a bill that includes Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Kelly Clarkson.

Coldplay were announced as performers for this year's Summertime Ball back in April and join Jessie J, Usher, Ed Sheeran, The Wanted, Rita Ora, Lawson and Cover Drive on the lineup.
The Wembley Stadium performance follows the band's three-night residency at Emirates Stadium this past weekend, which saw them play in front of 58,000 crowd members per show.
The Capital Summertime Ball 2012 starts at 4pm this Saturday (June 9) and will be broadcast on 95-106 Capital FM.
