Kaiser Chiefs has insisted that their upcoming 'Greatest Hits' compilation will not mark the end of the band.

The Leeds group released the 14-track Souvenir on Monday (June 4).

Bassist Simon Rix told BBC Breakfast: "It's a singles collection, it's similar [to a 'Greatest Hits'] but different. It's not a 'Greatest Hits', it's not the end."

The album also features two new tracks 'On the Run' and 'Listen to Your Head', with Rix saying that Souvenir was a "way of getting it out there".

Frontman Ricky Wilson added: "It's always great to reminisce, nostalgia is fun. It's really good looking back. We've had loads of big singles."

The duo explained that one of the main reasons behind releasing the compilation was that fans kept asking them to do so on Twitter.

Kaiser Chiefs will play at this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals from August 24 to August 26.
