Cheryl Cole has admitted that she does not find singing easy.

The Girls Aloud star, who has been criticised for miming during live performances, said that it is rare for a singer to achieve perfect vocals.

When asked by Pop Justice whether she personally finds singing straightforward, she replied: "I don't, no.

"I don't think singing is supposed to be easy. It's supposed to come from your emotions."

Ex-Strictly Come Dancing judge and choreographer Arlene Phillips recently praised Cole for her "sensational" dance moves.

Meanwhile, the 28-year-old insisted that artists should not be appreciated less for not writing their own songs, adding: "I don't care that I didn't write it, I just appreciate other people's talents.

"I didn't grow up listening to songs thinking, 'Well they didn't write it'. I loved those songs because they were great songs, and that's still how I feel when I'm making my music."
