Swedish House Mafia's Sebastian Ingrosso has revealed that the group would prefer to release singles than a full album.

The DJ and producer admitted that plans for a new record are "up in the air" and would prefer to release one-off singles as opposed to a full LP.

He told Digital Spy: "It's all up in the air. That's the thing with Swedish House Mafia, you never know. We're making music that we think is good for our shows.

"We don't give a f**k about trends or what everybody else is doing. We are more of a band right now so we can be broad and versatile in the studio. There's no boundaries for us, it's all about having fun."

Asked when fans could expect their next record, Ingrosso explained: "I don't think there's going to be any album. This album format isn't happening anymore. Madonna just put out an album, but how many tracks do you know from it?

"People today release songs on iTunes and people choose and pick what they like and they make their own playlists. An album doesn't make sense for us at the moment."

He added: "We might release just songs [instead] or maybe an EP. We're deciding that right now."

The trio's debut LP Until One peaked at number two in 2010 and sold over 100,000 copies.

Ingrosso recently hosted a 'live' house party via Spotify's Soundrop app, where fans could share their favourite songs and vote what track should be played next.

Ingrosso's new single 'Calling (Lose My Mind)' with Ryan Tedder is out now. Watch the official music video below:
