Refused have announced two UK gigs for later this summer.

The Swedish band will perform at two dates in London and Manchester in August.

The group disbanded in 1998 after releasing three studio albums, but reformed earlier this year.

Refused will play at London's HMV Forum on August 12, followed by Manchester's Academy on August 14.

They will also perform at this weekend's Download Festival.

Talking about their UK gigs, the band explained: "The Queen just had her Jubilee, Download's happening this weekend and now we're extremely happy to announce that we will be playing a couple of club shows in the UK in August.

"London and Manchester be ready. WE ARE NOT F**KING DEAD."

The band's tour will continue with gigs and festivals throughout the US and Europe. It is currently unclear whether they will continue performing into 2013.
