High Definition Festival has announced it will be the most "cutting-edge" boutique festival of 2012.

The event promises to be a "visually and sonically extravagant showpiece" after being granted access to some of Europe's best sound systems and technical equipment.

Festival director Daniel May said: "A few of the monster corporate festivals will have similar specification technical gear to those we'll be using at High Definition.

"However, given our relative size we're convinced no other boutique festival will be able to deliver the same jaw-dropping experience as you'll get here."

Production manager Terry Lewsey insisted High Definition is "raising the bar on production" for smaller UK festivals, adding: "We have seriously upped our game and also upped the power specification to run it."

This year's High Definition Festival, which takes place in Essex on June 30, includes performances from Fedde le Grand, Pendulum, Ms Dynamite, Redlight, D Ramirez, Sub Focus and MistaJam.

Tickets, priced between £40 and £75, are on sale now.
