The Rolling Stones deny Glastonbury 2013, retirement rumours

By
The Rolling Stones have denied rumours that they will retire from music next year.

Previous reports suggested that the rock icons would end their 50 years of live performances with a headline slot at Glastonbury 2013.

However, a spokesperson for the band told The Guardian that there is no truth to the claims and that they currently have no plans to headline Glastonbury next June.

Meanwhile, the festival's press office explained that rumours of The Rolling Stones playing Glastonbury are not new as they have yet to perform at the music event.

A spokesman said: "Everybody in the year off thinks they've come up with the perfect Glastonbury lineup. But at the moment there isn't anything to confirm or deny."

The Rolling Stones are expected to embark on a world tour later this year and throughout 2013 to celebrate their 50-year career.
