Will Loomis claims that track 'Bright Red Chords' by his band Loomis & the Lust was used without consent for her hit single 'Domino', reports Billboard.
"Mr Loomis never consented to the use of his song," his lawyer wrote in a statement.
"We look forward to obtaining an appropriate remedy from the court for this clear infringement."
The lawsuit is aimed at Jessie J and her record labels Universal Music Group, Lava Records and Universal Republic Records.
Loomis uploaded a video earlier this year that supposedly showed up similarities between the two songs.
Jessie J is currently working on her follow-up album to 2011's Who You Are. She recently said that she is hoping for duets with Beyoncé, Rihanna and Ed Sheeran.
