Pete Doherty has cancelled three upcoming festival performances after entering rehab.

The ex-Libertines man will now not play his planned shows at Scotland's T in the Park, the Czech Republic's Rock for People and Portugal's Super Bock Super Rock.

Escorted by his manager Andy Boyd, Doherty entered The Cabin in Chiang Mai, Thailand yesterday (June 26).

The Cabin's programme director Alastair Mordey said: "I think Pete's decision to come to The Cabin indicates his desire to enter a truly effective treatment programme far away from the distractions and chaos of life in the UK.

"Also I think he's probably seen enough of the clinical environment of most western centres and wants to experience life in full colour again."

At The Cabin, Doherty will undergo cognitive behavioural therapy, workshops in mindfulness and mind mapping, and a secularised version of the Twelve Steps.

The facility also said it was likely that Doherty would undertake a tailored exercise programme including activities like yoga and elephant trekking.
