Rumours began circulating after the singer referred to his "last album" during an acceptance speech for 'Best Male R&B Artist' at last night's (July 1) BET Awards.
"I'd like to thank Team Breezy (his fans), everybody who worked on any one of my albums," he said.
"My last album that's coming out in two days... I just want to thank all my fans. It's dedicated to y'all. This one's for y'all, man, I appreciate everything."
However, a rep for Brown insisted that Fortune, which is released today, will not be his final album.
Brown was instead referring to the last album he had worked on rather than his retirement from the music business, MTV reports.
His spokesperson was also forced to deny reports that Brown had been arrested for gun possession at the music ceremony, clarifying that "nothing of the sort happened".
