Speaking to Digital Spy at T4 on the Beach where they gave the first ever live performance of the song, the girl group explained that they are relieved the song is finally out there.
Asked if it's a good representation of their debut album, Jesy Nelson said: "Definitely, I think so. We love it and we're really proud of it."
Leigh-Anne Pinnock continued: "There's a mix of everything really. There's all different styles."
Jade Thirlwall added: "There's old-school and lots of group harmonies with modern beats. It's pretty exciting."
Asked if their material has been influenced by any artists in particular, Thirlwall explained: "For 'Wings' it was Beyoncé and Michael Jackson."
