Ricky Tomlinson is releasing a single - Christmas My Arse - and hopes is will make Christmas number one.
The actor has put his catchphrase from BBC hit The Royle Family, in which he played Jim Royle, to music.
Tomlinson worked with Patrick Aherne, brother of the show's writer Caroline, on the song, which he described as a certain hit.
"It's got rhythm, it's got style, a certain comic class and if Ringo was on the drums it would have everything," he declared. "We'll show Sir Cliff Richard how to do it."
Patrick said his comedian sister had also added her support. "I've played it to our Caroline and she's now our number one fan," he told the Daily Mirror. "We're aiming for a Christmas number one."
The pair teamed up after The Royle Family crew made a special episode which aired last month.
