The Smashing Pumpkins have announced plans to reissue their 1994 album Pisces Iscariot.

The album will be remastered for the first time as part of EMI Music's extensive reissue campaign honouring the legacy of the band.

Band member Billy Corgan says in the liner notes penned by David Wild: "A collection of odds and orphans from the dusky realms of Pumpkinland."

Meanwhile, Wild himself writes: "Pisces Iscariot was the little mix tape that went platinum.

"This unlikely smash album that some came to mistake for the Pumpkins' third studio effort even yielded a hit single - another wonderfully odd moment in the landslide that was the intense early success story of Smashing Pumpkins," he adds.

The Pumpkins' new LP Oceania was released on June 18.

The band announced a UK tour in November of last year.

The reissue will be available on July 16 internationally and on July 17 in North America.
