Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend, Band of Horses, Animal Collective, Crystal Castles and Childish Gambino are also among the first wave of acts confirmed for Big Day Out.
Last year's festival was headlined by Kanye West and Soundgarden, although West was dropped from the bill in Perth and Adelaide last year when organisers decided to make financial cuts by having just one stage at the venues.
However, the rapper did perform in Sydney, Gold Coast and Melbourne.
Tickets go on sale this Thursday (July 19), priced at AU$165 for standard tickets and AU$265 for premium tickets.
The Big Day Out 2013 calls at the following venues:
- Friday, January 18 - Sydney, Showground
- Sunday, January 20 - Gold Coast, Parklands
- Friday, January 25 - Adelaide, Showground
- Saturday, January 26 - Melbourne, Flemington Racecourse
- Monday, January 28 - Perth, Claremont Showground
