Madonna makes $49m from first 11 'MDNA' shows

Madonna's current world tour has made a good start at the box office.

The singer has made $49.5 million from 417,448 tickets during the first 11 dates of her MDNA jaunt, which started in Tel Aviv back in May.

The show at the Ramat Gan Stadium in the Israeli city played host to a crowd of 33,457 people on May 31, accumulating revenue topping $4.3m, according to Billboard.

Lady GaGa's 'Born This Way Ball' has landed at number two on the live tour list, after the star grossed $23.6m in ticket sales from the Oceania leg during June.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez's first ever world tour grossed $1.7m after selling 20,352 in June and Iron Maiden raked in $1.5m for their shows in the US.

Madonna will play London's Hyde Park this evening (July 17) as part of the continuing European leg of her MDNA world tour.
