The 'Heartbreaker' singer was asked about the music she listens to most these days in an interview with Parade.
"There are so many young women coming up through the ranks. Adele is an amazing singer. Beyoncé has great stage presence. She's just a beautiful woman," Benatar revealed. "I love how everyone has just taken charge of their lives and careers."
Benatar also discussed the difficulties female pop stars face in balancing motherhood and their music.
"It was very difficult when I was trying to figure out how to have a marriage and babies and do this at the same time. There was no handbook. You were making it up as you went along," she explained.
Benatar continued: "I remember seeing Chrissie Hynde backstage and she had just had Natalie and I had just had my oldest, Haley, and we were just looking at each other and saying, 'No one is helping us drag baby equipment around!'
"Every day was such a challenge and it's not like that anymore. Things run pretty smoothly now. It's kind of fun for me to see how it's all evolved."
Benatar will be touring North America throughout the summer and fall.
