Madonna slammed by Mothers Against Guns for 'MDNA' tour show props

Madonna has been criticised after keeping sequences with replica guns as part of her stage show despite last Friday's shooting at a movie theatre.

The singer has attracted controversy for wielding fake weapons during her 'MDNA' tour.



She was urged to remove the sequence after the fatal shooting in Colorado at a screening of new Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises.

Pressure group Mothers Against Guns has now spoken out against the star after she continued to use the gun replicas in her set.

"Madonna and her dancers using replica guns was always in bad taste but given what happened in Colorado it is even worse," a spokesman told The Daily Record. "She should know better."



Labour MSP and member of Holyrood's justice committee Graeme Pearson added: "It's crass and insensitive and with Scotland's own gun tragedy at Dunblane she should have known better."

Madonna was recently threatened with a lawsuit by France's National Front party after she juxtaposed images of party leader Marine Le Pen with a swastika as part of her set.

She was also criticised after baring a naked breast during a live show in Turkey.
