The Big Chill could return in 2013 under a new guise, organiser Melvin Benn has revealed.

The Festival Republic boss has indicated plans to rebrand the Herefordshire music event for 2013, after the 2012 instalment was cancelled due to clashing with the Olympics.

"I'm sure something will return that will have a completely fresh take on what a festival should be," Benn told BBC Newsbeat about the event.

"The Big Chill [2012] was a clash with the Olympics but more importantly with The Big Chill it was me not being absolutely certain where I wanted to take the festival and what I was doing with the festival."

The organiser explained that he is going to visit the site next week to evaluate his options and consider re-working the music festival completely.

"I'm actually going down there next week to the very same site to have a look," Benn said.

"I'll go with a couple of people that I hope will be working with me on - not The Big Chill, it won't necessarily be The Big Chill - but a replacement or something to be born out of that."

The Big Chill 2012 included sets from Kanye West, Calvin Harris, Jessie J, The Chemical Brothers and Robert Plant.
