Obama told him that daughters Malia and Sasha regularly listen to the boyband's music at the White House.
He wrote: "Just met the First Lady. So lovely. She congratulated us on our success and said the kids were fans."
The Wanted will play at the Arthur Ashe Kids' Day on August 25, which kicks off the US Open.
Michelle Obama recently joked that she sometimes wishes she was Beyoncé.
