Bromfield tweeted an image of herself with Payne - which appears below - in the studio with producer Jim Beanz.
She said: "Guess which boy band is in the studio next door to me? I'll give you a clue, they're all super cute!!" before adding: "Im chilling in the studio with the lovely @Real_Liam_Payne @BEANZbeanzBEANZ @Onedirection."
The Daily Star reports that Payne will feature on Bromfield's forthcoming album, with Beanz adding: "Liam was partying in the studio."
The LP follows last year's Good for the Soul, which peaked at number seven on the charts in July and spawned the hit single 'Yeah Right'.
The singer recently paid tribute to her godmother and "best friend" Amy Winehouse, adding: "It's been a year since you left and I still think about you everyday."
