Elbow's 'One Day Like This' currently sits at number four on the iTunes chart after their performance at last night's event (August 12), beating its previous peak at number 35 in 2008.
Meanwhile, Kate Bush's reworked version of 'Running Up that Hill (A Deal with God)' is at number seven. The original version of the song - released in 1985 - landed at three on the Official Singles Chart.
Elsewhere, Emeli Sandé's solo version of her duet with Professor Green 'Read All About It Pt. III' is at number 11, John Lennon's 'Imagine' has risen to 14, and Muse's official Olympics track 'Survival' climbs to number 20.
George Michael's rendition of his new single 'White Light' sends the song to 21, Oasis's 'Wonderwall' - which was performed by Beady Eye at the ceremony - is at 27, and One Direction rebound at 28 with 'What Makes You Beautiful'.
Further down the download chart, Sandy Denny's 'London' enters at 33, Taio Cruz's 'Dynamite' is at 39, and the Spice Girls bow at 111 with 'Spice Up Your Life'.
The Olympics closing ceremony, which was billed as a 'Symphony of British Music', also included performances from Pet Shop Boys, Ray Davies, Ed Sheeran, Tinie Tempah, Kaiser Chiefs and Queen.
