Spice Girls, Emeli Sandé, Elbow albums in closing ceremony sales surge

Albums by Emeli Sandé, Elbow and the Spice Girls have vaulted up digital sales charts since their appearance in last night's London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.

Sandé's debut album Our Version Of Events has moved up to number two on the iTunes sales chart, while Elbow's 2008 record The Seldom Seen Kid rises to six.

The official A Symphony of British Music: Music For the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games soundtrack currently resides at number three.

The Spice Girls' Greatest Hits collection vaults up to number 11 following their brief reformation for the show and Kate Bush's retrospective collection The Whole Story is at 16.

Jessie J's debut Who You Are sits at 22, Elbow's latest record Build A Rocket Boys! is up to 29 and Oasis's classic album (What's The Story) Morning Glory is at 34.

The Annie Lennox Collection climbs to 36 after the star performed 'Little Bird' at the ceremony, while Fatboy Slim's greatest hits disc Why Try Harder follows at 37.

Further down the list, a retrospective collection from Pink Floyd is at 49, from Queen at 53, David Bowie at 54 and The Who at 58.

Meanwhile, Bush, Elbow and Sandé are also enjoying success on the iTunes singles chart with a track they performed at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.
