The Britain's Got Talent star explained that his first collection of songs is an intimate portrayal of his character.
Describing the sound of his self-titled album, he said: "Raw, acoustic. I actually asked the producer not to fix any imperfections, so that it's more natural with a live feel.
"Lyrically all the songs are quite personal, which really exposes me as a person and not just a singer and a writer!"
The singer also revealed that his favourite track on the record is 'Sofa Bed', adding: "[It's] probably my favourite song I've written so far, it's more uptempo and really enjoyable to play live.
'Waiting' is another song I love to play but for the opposite reasons, it's more laidback as reflective."
It was recently reported that O'Shaughnessy's EP is on course for a spot in the top ten on Sunday's Official Chart, currently placed at number six.
