The band revealed that they are not nervous about the release of their second album Beacon, but are more eager to take the new material on the road.
Asked if they were apprehensive about the release of their new record, Sam Halliday told Digital Spy backstage at Reading Festival: "No, not nervous - I'm just excited. It's been so long coming.
"We stopped touring Tourist History in our heads in October last year and since then we've been working on this."
Kevin Baird added: "It's exciting to not have to hold anything back any longer. We can give it all.
"The songs on our first album very easily slotted together so the live show was like a punch in the face - no breaks, no gaps and no drop in tempo.
"On this record we do have those tracks that drop in tempo, so we're going to have to think a lot more about the flow of the set."
Baird concluded: "Hopefully we're going to be playing bigger shows because of the new album and if it goes well, we're going to have a bigger budget to spend on making the show crazy."
Two Door Cinema co-headlined the NME/Radio 1 Stage at this weekend's Reading and Leeds Festival.
The band's second studio album Beacon will be released in the UK on September 3.
