will.i.am has debuted his new track, which became the first song ever played on Mars today (August 28).
The rapper's track 'Reach For The Stars' was played at 9pm BST (4pm ET) by NASA's Curiosity Rover, which is currently exploring the red planet.
The space exploration organisation has stated that the song is about "will.i.am's passion for science, technology and space exploration".
'Reach For The Stars' begins with an orchestral instrumental reminiscent of Hollywood movie soundtracks that have told various fictional adventures of space exploration.
Lyrics in the song include: "Why do they say the sky is the limit, when I see them footprints on the moon?
"I know the sky may be high, but baby it ain't really that high/ And I know that Mars might be far, but baby it ain't really that far."
will.i.am's 'Reach For The Stars' will be available to download from iTunes.
