The 'Call Me Maybe' singer told Metro that the backing of her fellow Canadian had a massive impact on her career.
"I really owe Justin a lot. He's been such an amazing supporter," Jepsen said.
"From his initial tweet and encouragement to signing me to the [Scooter Braun's School Boy Records] label... it's been the thing that's changed the game for me."
She added: "I feel very grateful to have met him and thankful for all the things he's brought to my life."
Jepsen said that she is excited about the "big tour" she will go on with Bieber later this year.
The singer's duet with Bieber, titled 'Beautiful', appears on her second studio album Kiss, which is released in the UK on September 17 and a day later in the US.
"I'm kind of sworn to secrecy on because I think we want to release it together at one moment," Jepsen said when asked for details of the collaboration.
