Cheryl Cole has revealed that she wanted to be TLC rapper Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes when she was younger.

The singer revealed that she used to have a more masculine style before her time in Girls Aloud and wanted to imitate the image of her idol Lopes.

"I wanted to be Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes from TLC - I used to wear baggy jeans and Timberlands like a tomboy," Cheryl told This Morning.

The star - who is currently rehearsing for her first ever solo arena tour - also detailed her routine before taking to the stage for one of her gigs.

"There's a lot of nervous energy before you perform - I like to be left alone with the earphones in and not thinking about anything and just zone out, and then I have a little gathering with the dancers," she said.

Cheryl's new single 'Under the Sun' is available to download now.
