"It's a deeply emotional and poignant song that I have a real connection to."
The track, which is released on October 7, was written by Lewis and Emeli Sandé and produced by Naughty Boy and Fraser T Smith.
The radio edit of the single also features rapper Childish Gambino.
'Trouble' serves as the lead single from the star's upcoming album Glassheart, which follows on October 14.
