The 'Born in the USA' rocker turned 63 years old on Sunday (September 23) during a live show at the open-air MetLife Stadium.
According to The AP, Springsteen and his band sang 'Twist and Shout' and passed out slices of birthday cake to audience members.
Springsteen also invited his elderly mother Adele on stage, before finally departing at around 2am.
The celebratory concert was nearly cancelled by authorities due to rain and concerns about lightning.
Fans waited for nearly three hours before Springsteen and his band took the stage at 10.30pm.
The rocker is currently on a North American tour to support his album Wrecking Ball.
