Sambora reacted to Armstrong's condemnation of Bon Jovi while speaking to Rolling Stone over the weekend.
"I have no idea what happened with that, I actually don't recall them opening for us," the guitarist admitted.
He continued: "Either I was incapacitated at that point or I just don't remember it. I'm sorry he had such a bad time."

Armstrong announced that he would check into rehab for substance abuse on Sunday (September 23), just one day after a stage outburst at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
The 'Oh Love' singer's rehab stint will not conflict with his role as a mentor on The Voice as he pre-taped all his appearances earlier this month.
Green Day's latest album ¡Uno! is now available, with ¡Dos! and ¡Tré! being released in the coming months.
