Rihanna has overtaken One Direction on the iTunes sales chart.
The boyband initially went to number one with 'Live While We're Young' when it went on sale yesterday (September 30) after accumulating record-breaking pre-orders.
However, Rihanna's 'Diamonds' has since surpassed One Direction on the iTunes singles chart and is currently sitting on top.
The Bajan star originally planned to release her new Sia-penned cut in the UK in November.
Due to commercial success across the world and huge demand from British fans, Rihanna's label made the last-minute decision to bring the release of 'Diamonds' forward to September 30.
Although Rihanna has taken the digital singles lead, One Direction's 'Live While We're Young' EP is at number four on the album list.
The official midweek chart update will be announced on Wednesday (October 3) at 4.30pm, while the final chart placings will be confirmed next Sunday (October 7) at 7pm.
