DJ Fresh has revealed that he wanted Friendly Fires on his new album.

The producer released his new collection Nextlevelism earlier this week, but confessed that he did not get all of his first-choice artists on the record.

"I don't always get my first choice when I choose a singer for a track but somehow it always works out," DJ Fresh - real name Dan Stein - told the Daily Star.

"I got movie star Juliette Lewis to sing 'Fire Over Water' but she wasn't my first choice. I had Friendly Fires in mind but we couldn't get it together."

He added: "And when I did 'Skyhighartist' with the Rizzle Kicks I turned up with a melody and we wrote the words.

"Then I got them to really shout the track. I think it works because I don't write songs aimed at specific artists. I write with inspiration."

DJ Fresh recently revealed that he is interested in working with Girls Aloud for their comeback record.
