Kelly Clarkson is teaming up with Iggy and The Stooges bassist Mike Watt for her next album.
The American Idol winner has collaborated with the musician, who was also a founding member of The Minutemen, on over half of her new record. She claims she brought the bassist in to add “fuzz bass, fills and solos" as well as "just making things fatter”.
The man himself had limited experience of Clarkson before they got together, but was pleasantly surprised by the resulting music.
“I ended up playing on six of the songs," he revealed. "I had no idea what it was going to be like, but it ended up being pretty interesting. "I heard that Kelly won some game show, but I was really impressed how she sang her ass off.
“It was intense. I'm really glad I had the experience - it was trippy and everyone gave me much respect."
