Lead vocalist Michael Stipe and bassist Mike Mills joined their band mate Peter Buck who was onstage playing with the evening's headline act Robyn Hitchcock.
The brief, two-song performance included a rendition of their famous song 'Electrolite' in addition to a new as-yet-untitled track.
REM are currently working on their latest album which, according to Gigwise, may be released by the end of the year.
