Ringo to present Brit Award to Oasis
Ex-Beatle Ringo Star has been recruited to present the Outstanding Contribution award to Oasis at this year's Brit Awards.

After expressing anger over their last album Don't Believe The Truth's being overlooked by the Brit Awards nominations last year, Oasis vowed that they would only turn up to accept the award this time if someone "amazing" could hand it to them.

Having performed with Ringo's son Zak Starkey, Noel has previously expressed his displeasure with not having met him before, conceding "It's obviously not meant to be".

But the news has reportedly excited the band immensely.

A source told The Sun, "Noel is well chuffed. It's the ultimate accolade for the lads to be honoured by their heroes.

"It is something they have dreamed of ever since they were starting out in their Manchester bedrooms."

In 1977, the Beatles became the first band to win the Outstanding Contribution award at the Brits.
