Morrissey pulls out of Eurovision contest

The ex-Smiths frontman has in the past expressed a serious interest in being involved with the entry, but has been forced to withdraw due to poor timing.
A spokeswoman for the BBC told The Independent, "He will now definitely not be taking part.
"We were in discussion with him and other artists, and he had been genuinely interested, but the timing wasn't right."
The spokeswoman also revealed that the fact that Morrissey would have been involved in a reality TV vote may also have put him off the idea: "Potentially Morrissey would have been one of five or six acts on our show Making Your Mind Up."
