Exclusive: Robbie Williams: 'My last album didn't have any hits'

By
Robbie Williams has admitted that he was disappointed with his last album Reality Killed The Video Star.

The singer claimed that the record had no hit songs on it and feared it would end his music career.

He said: "With Reality Killed The Video Star... I had intentionally and unintentionally not managed to write a hit.

"It threw my confidence. I say you can't go into things half-arsed, and I didn't realise that. It's very important that you get absolutely every album right, otherwise it could literally be the end of your career."

Williams also explains the song 'S**t On The Radio' in the clip from his upcoming album Take The Crown, saying: "Ironically, I'm the s**t that's on the radio. I mean it in a good way! It seems like a pop nugget."

He also describes LP track 'Hunting For You' as one that "fills its boots", adding: "It's another '80s moment, which is what I seem to be re-creating. Me in the '80s."

Robbie Williams releases his new single 'Candy' on October 28. His album, Take The Crown, follows on November 5.
