The View singer fined on cocaine charge
Published Saturday, Mar 3 2007, 10:16 GMT | By Matthew Houghton
The lead singer of The View was charged £1,000 for being in possession of cocaine at a court hearing yesterday.
Kyle Falconer, 19, pleaded guilty to the possession of the Class A drug in an appearance at Dundee Sheriff Court, after being arrested in August last year.
Defence agent to the singer, Billy Boyle, apparently asked for an absolute discharge for the crime due to fact that his client had not consumed any of the drug.
According to Gigwise the charge has "seriously jeopardised" the chances of The View breaking America, because it will hinder Falconer's chances of being allowed into the country.
As a result of the charges the band have had to delay the release of their new album Hats Off To The Buskers and have been forced to turn down an advertising deal with a jeans company.
