The track is the second single to be released from the band's new album #3, which went into the UK chart at number two in September.
'Six Degrees of Separation' is a downtempo ballad that examines the different stages of a break-up.
The song was written by the band (Danny O'Donoghue, Mark Sheehan and Glen Power) and produced by O'Donoghue and Sheehan, alongside Irish producer Jimbo Barry.
The first single from #3, 'Hall of Fame', featuring will.i.am, went straight in at number one on the UK singles chart. The band are currently touring the US, and recently announced a UK and Ireland arena tour for 2013.
