By
The Wanted have revealed that they weren't happy with their second album.

The group, who released Battleground in November last year, admitted the set was "too different" from their self-titled debut.

Tom Parker told Digital Spy: "Honestly, we didn't think our last album was as strong as our first," while Max George added: "It was different - too different."

Discussing their next LP, which is due for release in early 2013, Nathan Sykes said: "With this next album I think we're going to take the darkness from our last record but add in the feeling of our first.

"This album will be bigger and more uplifting and optimistic."

On the delay of their third record, which was originally slated for release this Christmas, Jay McGuiness said that their record label was "keen... to release the album in the fourth quarter", but insisted: "We're going to have to live with this album, it's our first worldwide album and we want to get it right.

"It's no fun performing or promoting if you don't believe in the music."

The Wanted's latest single 'I Found You' is out now and on course for a top five placing on Sunday's Official Chart.
