Kelly Clarkson: 'I can't listen to some of my older songs'

By
Kelly Clarkson has revealed that she avoids listening to her earliest hits.

The first American Idol winner - who stormed the charts with her debut single 'A Moment Like This' in 2002 - admitted to CNN that autotune was overused in some of her older tracks.

"Sometimes, I can't listen to really old school songs... because they just use so much autotune when it's not needed that it kills me," Clarkson explained. "I can't listen to it."

The star went on to say: "What I love about that though is on songs like 'Miss Independent,' not only was it autotune, I just sounded different, I sounded so young."

Clarkson is prepping the release of her Greatest Hits: Chapter One album, which features new love song 'Don't Rush'.

"[My song] 'Don't Rush'... is on the US album, and I would have totally not picked that song before because I would have been, 'That's cheese'," she said. "Now that I'm living cheese and I'm in love, I totally love it."

Greatest Hits: Chapter One is released on November 19 in the US and November 26 in the UK.
