Ellie Goulding doesn't want to play arenas: They're boring and rubbish

Ellie Goulding has revealed that she doesn't like the idea of playing arenas.

The singer admitted that she prefers to headline small venues while touring, as she hasn't enjoyed performing in arenas when supporting other acts.

"Is it weird that I don't like the idea of an arena tour?" she asked BBC Newsbeat. "If I can just get away with doing lots of smaller venues… Like Brixton Academy is my dream.

"I've always wanted to play Brixton Academy and now I am and it's mental. But I don't think I want to do arenas to be honest."

She added: "I've played arenas supporting other artists but it's not really for me to be honest. They're just a bit boring and a bit rubbish. Sorry arena people."

Goulding will embark on a headline tour of the UK next month, starting at Bristol Academy on December 7 and including a show at London's Brixton Academy on December 12.
