Perry Farrell's has described the new Jane's Addiction album as the band's "greatest accomplishment".

The 'Jane Says' singer revealed to Billboard that he has written nearly 60 new songs for the untitled project, but stressed that the group will not "be able to use them all".

"The next album is going to be something that the world has never experienced," Farrell told the publication. "I'm building it simultaneously with the live show in mind and it's just going to be out of sight!"

Farrell went on to rule out the likelihood that Jane's Addiction's next project will be a double album, despite having written so many songs.

He added of a potential tour for the LP: "It's going to be theatrical and we're going to take it to another level. I want to really give you a new experience. I want you to feel like you've never seen it or experienced anything like it."

Previous Jane's Addiction album The Great Escape Artist reached number 12 on the Billboard album chart last year.

Farrell and his bandmates have released four full-length studio records in total.
