Corden matches the record set by Chris Evans, who hosted the ceremony in 1995, 1996, 2005 and 2006.

Damien Hirst has also been confirmed to design the Brits statuette for the upcoming ceremony, a commission which has previously been given to Vivienne Westwood and Sir Peter Blake.

"We are delighted that Damien will become the third extraordinary creative Briton to reimagine the Brit statue," said Brits chairman David Joseph.

"He is truly one of the most important British artists ever, and his unique vision will make winning a 2013 Brit an even more special proposition."

The Brit Awards 2013 will take place on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at The O2 in London, and will air live on ITV.

BBC Radio 1 breakfast show host Nick Grimshaw will announce the nominees on January 10, 2013 at the Savoy Hotel, organisers have also confirmed.
