Foo Fighters star Dave Grohl is to host his own SiriusXM radio show.

The 'Walk' singer is hosting Dave Grohl Presents: Sound City, which will air from LA's legendary Sound City Studios.

Grohl will guide fans through Sound City Studios' history with music that was recorded there between 1970 and 2011.

Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, REM and Grohl's own Nirvana and Foo Fighters have worked extensively in the studio.

Grohl said of his new radio show: "I'm grateful to SiriusXM for giving me the opportunity to share all this great music and to let people know what got me excited about Sound City in the first place."

Dave Grohl Presents: Sound City will be broadcast from today (November 29) to January 24 on SiriusXM's Classic Vinyl channel.

The musician has lined up a variety of side projects during his hiatus from Foo Fighters.

He will give the keynote address at the South by Southwest Music Festival as well as drum on the upcoming Queens of the Stone Age album.
