According to the Daily Star, the garment sold just hours before the Stones took to the stage at London's O2 Arena for their second and final UK gig in celebration of their 50th anniversary.

Film memorabilia was also up for sale, including a whip featured in the Indiana Jones series and a chalice from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (which sold for £20,000 - $32,000 - and £11,875 - $19,000 - respectively).

A house sign used in the final scenes of new James Bond movie Skyfall also fetched three times its estimated value, with the winning bid reaching £8,750 ($14,000).
